Solitaire — play classic Klondike free in your browser

Klondike Solitaire is the most played card game on Earth — it shipped with Windows in 1990 to teach people how to use a mouse, and the world never stopped playing. The goal is simple: move all 52 cards onto the four foundations, one suit each, from Ace up to King. On the tableau you stack cards in descending order with alternating colors, flip hidden cards as you uncover them, and draw from the stock when you're stuck.

This version is built for one hand and zero friction: no dragging — just tap a card and it moves itself to the best legal spot. Draw-1 rules with unlimited passes through the deck, unlimited undo, a timer and move counter, and your best winning time saved on your device. Free, no download, works on phone and desktop.

How to play

• Tap the deck (top-left) to draw a card; tap it again when empty to recycle the waste pile.
• Tap any face-up card to move it — foundations first, otherwise onto a tableau card one rank higher in the opposite color. Cards stacked on it come along.
• Kings (alone or with their stack) fill empty columns — tap the King or the empty space.
• Uncovered face-down cards flip automatically. Made a mistake? Undo is unlimited.
• When nothing is hidden anymore, hit ✨ AUTO to finish the game in a flourish.

Klondike strategy that actually works

• Flip face-down cards above all else. Every hidden card is information and options; a move that flips one is almost always better than one that doesn't.
• Dig the long columns first. The right-most columns hide up to six cards — bias your moves toward uncovering them early.
• Don't empty a column without a King ready. An empty space only Kings can use is a wasted space; know which King (ideally with a useful stack) is going there.
• Aces and twos go up immediately — they're never useful in the tableau. Middle cards can be worth holding back if the foundation move strands a card you still need to stack on.
• Around 80% of Klondike deals are theoretically winnable, but typical draw-1 players win roughly a third of their games — undo and patience close most of that gap.
